Boot and Shoe Service with complimentary olives |
I love this style of food - small dishes with thin crust pizza topped with fresh seasonal ingrediants.
Grilled pork loin with chickpeas |
I really wanted to like this dish, but it was just ok. The pork was cooked perfectly though - the ingrediants just didnt seem to work together, but Im also not a huge fan of pork (insert gasp here).
Roasted asparagus with soft poached egg |
Soft poached eggs are one of my favorite things to order when I see it on the menu. This is a pretty common dish to see on bay area menus that serve this style of food. Boot and Shoe definitely prepared this well - a perfectly gooey egg for dipping the fresh roasted aspargus in
Margherita di bufala pizza |
I always order the Magherita pizza everywhere I go because its the basis of ANY good pizza - fresh tomatos, basil, mozzerella (preferably bufalo - +1 for B&S)
House made cannoli with pistacios and fresh strawberries |
Nothing special here, but Im not a cannoli type of person.
Verdict: Definitely coming back and putting it into my rotation especially when Im in the area. I love the casual environment of this place plus the rotating menu depending on what is seasonal (very bay area!).
